Our multigenerational storytellers take the Joe's Pub stage to share true tales of HEAT: the summer fling that rewrote the rules; the late-in-life awakening nobody saw coming; the night she finally stopped apologizing for what she wanted; the seduction that didn't go to plan; or the moment she discovered her own body was the best company in the room. Funny, frank, and gloriously alive, our wise and witty storytellers — from their twenties to their seventies and beyond — will remind us that wanting is human, pleasure is ageless, and life is far too short to keep your cool.
Don't miss New York's best storytelling night, presenting true stories told by women and non-binary performers across the generations, all turning up the heat on desire, joy, and the unapologetic pursuit of what sets us alight.

Team 20s: Caroline Dunn is a performer, writer, and comedian. Her hit one-woman-gay-nun play, Prudence Play, premiered to 5 stars at Edinburgh Fringe and sold out an extended New York run. She's performed at The Bell House, Union Hall, and more. Next up: a debut duo-clown hour at Philly Fringe and Prudence Play on tour!
Team 30s: Alex Hudgens has thumb-wrestled The Rock three times and won, so the rest is just bonus. She’s an Emmy-nominated journalist, speaker, host, and emcee. Alex is Founder of the Main Character Collective, a community helping ambitious women find more fulfillment & fun. You only get one life: make it a page-turner.
Team 40s: Molly Canu is a playwright, storyteller, and producer whose work explores family, identity, humor, and loss. Based in Tarrytown, she often finds herself telling stories throughout Westchester and NYC, occasionally acting, and writing. When she isn't pursuing creative endeavors, she owns Fit Inn in Tarrytown and is a mom of two boys.
Team 50s: Grisel Y. Acosta’s (she/they) books include Latina Outsiders (Routledge, 2019); Things to Pack on the Way to Everywhere (Get Fresh, 2021); and Wild(FlowerSong Press, 2026). They have edited for C/LS Journal and WSQ Journal. Select work is in Poetry, Poem-A-Day, The Baffler, The Hopkins Review, and Latino Book Review.
Team 60s: Michele Carlo is a writer, storyteller (and sometimes actor) who has performed across the U.S., plus on NPR and the PBS series “Stories from the Stage.” She is also the author of the NYC-set memoir “Fish Out of Agua.
Team 70s: Patricia Dunphy resides and works in Manhattan. She writes and has performed at Generation Women, Listen to Your Mother and The Moth. A two-time Story Slam winner, she was recently featured in the Moth Podcast, “Love Hurts.” Will be producing Listen to Your Mother in NYC May 2027. Determined believer in the power of storytelling!
