This May, our multi-generational lineup repping every decade will take the Joe’s Pub stage to reveal the hidden stories they’ve kept locked away. From long-held confessions to surprising revelations to outrageous hot takes, our carefully curated tales will inspire and entertain you with their very best secrets. Expect an evening filled with heart, humor, and humanity at New York’s very best storytelling night. Some secrets are too good to keep!

🌟 Team 20s: Romanichel Garcia was born in the Bronx with Caribbean roots. She has been acting since age 4, training at top studios like Alvin Ailey and Stella Adler. A published artist and filmmaker, Romanichel uses her voice to uplift her community, inspire Bronx youth, and shine for all women who’ve ever felt silenced.
🌟 Team 30s: Hannah Deitch is the author of the debut novel Killer Potential, a literary thriller about two fugitives accused of murder, with a sapphic twist. She has an M.A. in English from UC Irvine, where she studied Marxist theory and contemporary pop culture. She is currently working on her second novel.
🌟 Team 40s: Ruthie Ackerman is the author of The Mother Code and the founder of the Ignite Writers Collective. Her writing has been published in Vogue, Glamour, TIME, and Oprah Daily, not to mention her Modern Love essay in the NYT. She lives in Brooklyn with her family.
🌟 Team 50s: Gail Payne played roles as a PR consultant, multi-million-dollar fundraiser, yoga studio owner, stay-at-home-step-mom, and cabaret producer before moving to New York to be a professional performer.. Now, it all informs her writing. She’s the co-founder of Carve Strategies, a Divine Riot theatre company board member, and volunteers with Muddy Paws dog rescue.
🌟 Team 60s: Chelle Carter-Wilson has storytelling in her DNA. In the wake of a career as an HR executive, she raised two children and trained a beloved boxer puppy before returning to writing. She is currently working on her first of three novels, an afro-futurist trilogy written as magical realism. Chelle looks forward to the Summer 2025 release of the Message Women’s Devotional Bible, to which she contributed.
🌟 Team 70s: Jude Treder-Wolff is a singer, songwriter, storyteller, improviser, writer and performer. She is host and creator of (mostly) TRUE THINGS, a game wrapped in a storytelling show that features true stories – with a twist.
