Live storytelling performance at Caveat NYC hosted by Generation Women

A Generation Women Experience

SPOTLIGHT

Find your story.

Step into your spotlight.

Spotlight is a six-week storytelling intensive for women and non-binary professionals ready to communicate with clarity, confidence, and impact — whether you're leading teams, pitching investors, or commanding a stage.

You’ll discover, develop, and perform the story only you can tell — culminating in a live and live-streamed New York City showcase captured on film.

No experience required. Just curiosity, courage, and a willingness to begin.

Welcome to Spotlight

Unlock your story and bring it to life

You’ll be guided through a proven creative process—designed by bestselling author and story coach Georgia Clark—that takes you from a spark of an idea, to a masterful story that moves audiences and elevates your voice.

By the end, you'll have a fully realized personal story, professionally recorded and photographed on stage, and the confidence to share it anywhere—joining the 600+ performers who've told their stories through Generation Women since 2017.

Is This You?

• I’m being asked or want to lead, present, or pitch more often — and I want to do it with impact and ease.

• I’m a strong writer but a nervous speaker (or vice versa), and I want to be both.

• I know I have a TED Talk, keynote, or Generation Women story in me — and I’m ready to find it.

• I’ve been told I should “share more of my story,” but I don’t know where to start.

• I want to make meaning of my life in a way that feels succinct, profound, and deeply human.

• I’m ready to become a world-class communicator — commanding attention, inspiring audiences, and opening new doors.

If any of these sound like you, you're in the right place.

It’s for all those who are done holding back - and ready to step into their voice with confidence, honesty, and artful precision.

You don’t need a story idea yet (you’ll find it here).
• You don’t need stage experience (you’ll gain it here).
• You just need a desire to tell the truth—and tell it well.

Why Companies Invest in Storytelling Skills

The most effective leaders don't just share information—they move people through story.

  • 92% of executives say storytelling improves leadership effectiveness (Harvard Business Review)

  • Companies that invest in communication skills see 47% higher shareholder returns (Holmes Report)

  • Teams are 20x more likely to remember a story than a data point (Stanford)

Spotlight develops this competitive edge—combining storytelling craft with performance coaching to make your message unforgettable, whether you're in the boardroom or on stage.

THE JOURNEY AHEAD

A guided storytelling experience designed to take you from blank page to bright lights. Here’s how we get there—one week, one breakthrough at a time.

Week 1 The Spark

Theme: Finding the story only you can tell

Meet your cohort, share your goals, and explore what makes a great story: structure, voice, and motional truth. Through guided exercises and spot-coaching, you’ll uncover the story that wants to be told — the one only you can tell.
Homework: Develop an outline for your story, mapping its emotional arc and major beats.

Week 2 Development Begins

Theme: Drafting and shaping your story

Present your outline to the group, share your concept, and get real-time coaching from Georgia on how to bring it to life. Together we’ll bridge the gap between idea and first draft.
Homework: Write and submit your first draft.

Week 3
First-Draft Feedback

Theme: Deepening the story

Meet with Georgia one-on-one for a personalized coaching session and developmental edit. You’ll refine your narrative structure, strengthen key emotional moments, and clarify your message.
Homework: Write and submit your second draft.

Week 4 Refinement & Workshop

Theme: Final tweaks and precision

Return to the group to read your second draft aloud. Together we’ll fine-tune phrasing, pacing, and emotional flow — polishing what’s already strong.
Homework: Georgia completes detailed line edits and returns your story for final approval.

Week 5 Refinement & Workshop

Theme: Confidence, presence, and polish

With your story locked, it’s time to focus on performance. You’ll practice vocal presence, movement, and pacing, and do a full on-camera run-through with supportive feedback. Whether you choose to memorize or read, you’ll leave feeling confident and grounded.
Homework: Practice your story for a compelling, commanding live performance.

Theme: Live showcase and celebration

Your moment in the spotlight. Join your cohort on stage for a professionally produced live performance in New York City — complete with photos, video, and a celebratory toast. (A group dinner the night before is included.)

Week 6 Spotlight

The Professional Toolkit You’ll Leave With:

  • A polished, signature story you can use in keynotes, team presentations, or creative performances

  • Multi-camera video of your live performance with broadcast-quality audio, plus optional raw footage

The Spotlight Difference

Most of us have a story to tell — we just need the structure, support, and confidence to tell it well. Spotlight is where that transformation happens. In just six weeks, you’ll move from uncertainty to clarity, from nerves to presence, and from “I think I have a story” to “I have a story that lands.” Unlike most storytelling workshops, Spotlight culminates in a fully produced, multi-camera filmed showcase, giving you lasting professional assets — not just a great experience. You’ll leave not just with a polished performance, but with lifelong tools to communicate with heart and authority — on any stage.
