Join us this November as we celebrate RECKONING: stories of endings, hard truths, and the moment the bill finally comes due. Six women and non-binary storytellers — one from each decade, 20s through 70s — share dramatic and hilarious true stories about the moment everything had to change, and the grit it took to change it. Some reckonings arrive with a bang; some get settled quietly across a kitchen table. All of them are proof that it's never too late to speak your truth and that you're more capable than you know.

Team 20s: JoliAmour DuBose-Morris is a writer and editor from Queens, New York. She specializes in fiction and essays. JoliAmour is a 2026 Emerging Writers Fellow for The Kweli Journal, a Fellow for Brooklyn Poets, and a PEN America Emerging Voices Finalist. Her zine “The Brief and Wondrous Life of the Metrocard” is currently on display in the W4 Newsstand Arts Installation. 

Team 30s: Bailey Swilley is a writer and performer from Memphis. Her stories have been featured on RISK!, Story Collider, and more. In 2024 and 2025, she brought her show, GIMME A SIGN! to the Edinburgh Fringe, receiving critical acclaim. This year, she’s touring her newest comedy, A BABY FOR ME? NO THANK YOU PLEASE!

Team 40s: Christi Somers is a comedian, educator, & speaker whose credits include Comedy Central, HBOMax, Netflix, Just For Laughs, & SXSW. After 20+ years performing stand-up, she now teaches the art of presence, helping performers find their voice, connect with audiences, & become more fully themselves onstage.

Team 50s:  Anthoula Katsimatides is an actor, writer, producer, and voice-over artist — and a devoted fur mama and “mother” to all. You’ve likely caught her on TV, and her autobiographical solo show, For Ourselves, For One Another, is coming to NYC soon.

Team 60s: Michele Herman is the author of the novel Save the Village, which was a finalist for the Eric Hoffer Prize, and two poetry chapbooks: Victory Boulevard and Just Another Jack. She publishes widely in literary journals, is an award-winning newspaper columnist, and a devoted memoir teacher at The Writers Studio.

Team 80s: Marjorie Conn made her acting debut with the late, great Ethyl Eichelberger playing Aegisthus to his Klytemnestra with her lover, the late, incomparable Katy Dierlam as Electra. She was awarded for her contributions to queer theatre in Provincetown, MA, and appears as the Masked Woman in The Home starring Pete Davidson.
